Desktop switch definition
Can someone explain why this switch is considered a 'desktop switch'?
At least it is in the retail store where I bought it.
What is a desktop switch and what are the characteristics?

Desktop switches are commonly small switches (5 or 8 ports, sometimes 16 ports), they are called "Desktop" switches because they are intended to be placed on a desk along with the router or modem. Sometimes, they can also have a wall mounting kit so you can secure it on a wall or on a side of a desk. These switches are commonly used in small office/home offices or rooms where you need extra ports. For switches with 16 up to 52 ports they are called the "rackmount" models, they belong in a rack in a server room.
