Difference GS308E and GS308-300PES
Hey,
my internet provider KPN( NLD) offers me the GS105E connecting Tv stream for IGPM protocol...it seems the only switch supported by KPN.
I need more ports, so the GS308E is the more convenient option. I assume that GS 308E is the newer version then GS105E with extra ports? Is this correct?
Commercials shows me now GS308-300PES with 40% reduced price...
is IGPM supported in the GS308-300PES version?
Any other difference between the 2 versions?
what is the difference between managed and unmanaged switches?
thanks for helping hands...

The GS308E, or in general any Smart Manged Plus [GSxxxE,XSxxxE] can be configured to handle IGMP multicast on a defined VLAN, similar to the GS105E offered by KPN. Details on what's required there goes on you.

No. the GS308 (non E) is an unmanaged switch only.
