    You can't do this - the modem must be connected direct to the Google WiFi WAN/Internet port (this is the one with the "earth" icon). This is the "outside" network where you typically just get a single public IP address. The switch must connect on the Google Mesh router LAN side (this is the one with the <...> icon). 

     

    Needless to say .... to connect a single PC to the Google WiFi router,  there is no switch required.

     

    FMI: Add LAN ports to Google Nest Wifi or Google Wifi 

     

    Not a Netgear switch problem at all.
