GS105 and wifi

I need some help and I am not sure where to go.

I have a windows 10 machine connected to a wifi router from verizon. The pc also has a unused ethernet port.

I also have:

A Netgear GS105 switch,

A Synology storage device,

A 3d printer.

I want to connect both the 3d printer and the synology to the switch and the switch to the pc which is easy to do via the Netgear but how do they get DHCP info from the router?

PC -------- WiFi provides DHCP and internet access.

------------- GS105 (via extra ethernet port)

                      ----------------- 3D Printer

                      ----------------- Synology

I do not know how to configure the networking on the PC to be able to both talk to the internet and to talk to the 3d printer and the Synology.

Can some one help me or point me to where I need to go to get the answer?

Thanks,

Bob

The key is to design and implement one network. A network cable or a fiber would allow to establish a nice connection.

https://www.verizon.com/support/residential/internet/equipment/routers a little bit vague. Most of these come with at least one LAN (Ethernet) port, allowing to connect one or multiple LAN Devices, like your PC LAN port, like your Synology NAS LAN port, and probably like your 3D printer if equipped with a LAN port.

The Windows computer does get a LAN config from the router DHCP server, assigning IP address and so on. Same applies to the Syno NAS, .. and so on. Everything will be connected to the network (LAN), the wireless is not require because everything is wired. If more network (LAN, Ethernet) ports are required, your Netgear GS1xx does have more ports and can be used to cascade the connections.

Except that the router is not in the same room as the rest of my equipment and can not be moved, not even the same floor of the house.

I guess what I need is help getting the windows 10 configured to work with both of its adapters.

      thanks for trying.
