GS308P No connection UI

Hi there,

 

I'm running into something strange with my GS308P.

From the beginning:

I connected it to my network at home (192.168.188.0/24) and it received an IP in that range. I then accessed the UI through it's IP to change it. So I change the IP to 192.168.0.101, change the PC's IP to a 192.168.0.x and start pinging it to see when it's ready. Well... it never was.

So I started checking and saw it as 192.168.0.101 in the IP scanner but I can't get a hold of it. I can't ping it, I can't access it. The switch just doesn't respond.

So I connected a second device to the switch to ping that and it works just fine. So it's working but it won't let me access.

 

Now the thing is, it also won't respond to it's default IP and it seems that Netgear kinda messed up with the GS308P because there is NO FACTORY RESET BUTTON. There's not a single button at all.

 

So how, for the love of god, am I supposed to reset that damn switch or is it just doomed ??

  • You have the GS308P? 

    Its an unmanaged switch.  it doesn't have a login/access. 

    I have no idea what you initially logged into to change the IP.

      Thanks for your reply.

      I noticed that pretty soon after posting the question.

       

      It turns out my flat mate has a GS108E hooked up to our network which I did not know and I connected to that.

      Since I only saw the Netgear Logo I thought that must be the GS308P.
