Need help with new 5 port switch
I bought a Net Gear 5 port switch so I can get internet to all four of my tvs......I have an ethernet cable running from my router in the basement to the switch in our bedroom......From there I have ...

We just had fiber optics installed and I believe they use a combination modem/router.....I ran an ethernet cable from that device to a net gear gs105 switch located in the bedroom......I ran an ethernet cable from the switch to a TV......The switch and the modem/router are communicating and all lights on that port are on......
no lights are showing on the port to the TV and I can not connect to internet.....I tested all cables by unplugging the ends and connecting the remote on one side of cable and the tester on the other.......Cables all passed......The switch is brand new as well but is there an easy way to test it......I also tried installing a downloaded update that the TV recommended but that did not work......I really appreciate your reply because I am at a loss here.....Thank you.

Tell us more about this CPE, the ISP, ... in absence of a crystal ball please.

ISP is Frontier Communications who ran fiber optics into an ONT and then into the modem/router which has no name or markings that I can see other than their name.....I am assuming that CPE is referring to equipment that I attached.....I am a little illiterate with these types of electronics so please forgive my ignorance.......Switch is a Net Gear GS105v5 5 port unmanaged switch and the TV is a Westinghouse WR43UX4210 Roku TV.......I am completely lost about the crystal ball reference other than I wish I had one to find out what the problem is....

An ONT is a Optical Network Terminal box, converting from fiber to copper. While it's an Ethernet connection, there is some router connection required - being for authentication to the network, being for connecting a LAN, being for connecting wireless devices. Just the ONT and a switch isn't enough I'm afraid.
A CPE is a Customer Premise Equipment device is typically much more.

Yes I know what the letters stand for and I am aware that the ONT converts fiber.....I understand what CPE stands for but what I dont understand is what Briant was asking me for......I listed everything that is connected in the system from the fiber cable to the ONT to the modem/router to the switch and finally to the TV.......Why are you saying that an ONT and a switch is not enough?......The modem/router is in the service box under the ONT......Can someone please tell me how to test the switch so I can determine that it is not the cause of the problem?.......Thank you
