Thanks Dane - you're a good man. I will try my luck with Netgear support. Of course, I have no invoice. In the absence of the Proof of Purchase or Sales Invoice of the FS116, alternatively you may provide the following:
1. An e-mail from the reseller for confirmation of sale.
2. Credit card statement showing the purchase of the device.

Presuming these machines have a life and this is not uncommon, would you expect the simple act of an unplug/plug would kill the unit? It worked fine in the moments up to that act.For me, a simple act of an unplug/plug should not cause the switch to be faulty. Unless, there is really a problem or fault with the hardware itself or with the power adapter that is being used with the switch.

Hi Bret4312,
Welcome to the community! :smileyhappy:
Let us isolate the problem. Kindly answer the questions below:
a. If the Cisco modem/router is directly connected to the FS116 then if you connect a PC directly to the FS116, are you able to get a valid IP address on the PC?
b. What is the behavior of the LED lights of the FS116 when it is connected to the existing network?
c. Have you tried to change the ethernet cables?
d. Have you tried to reboot the FS116?
I look forward to your response. Kindly post a screenshot of your detailed network setup.
Regards,
DaneA
