Hi, I have just bought this 8 port netgear gs308 unmanaged switch. I have powered it on and plug in a cat 5e cable from router direct to switch and it displays solid green light. I have a couple other item to plug in i.e tv and PC but the switch does not light up the port when I plug these cables in. What am I doing wrong, any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Be sure the ethernet ports are enabled on the devices.
Try a different LAN cable. CAT6 UTP is recommended.
