Accessing L2TP server behind FVX538v2 firewall
Hi all,
Thanks to Apple's latest iOS and OS updates PPTP VPN is no longer supported and I need to switch my users to L2TP. While the FVX538v2 firewall (fw) does offer in-built L2TP, I would rather keep the service at my server so we can manage user access based on domain usernames and cycled passwords.
I have setup port forwarding on UDP ports 500, 1701 and 4500, but the server is not responding, I wonder if there is something else I have missed?
Worth mentioning... At another site we have an SRX5308 (the replacement for the FXV538), which is working for L2TP remote conenctions, the only obvious difference being that there is a preconfigured UDP500 port setup in the OS on that called IKE.
Any ideas gratefully received.

Hi springeruk,
Welcome to the community! :)
I am not an iOS user. However, let me share the forum link below. Use it as a guide and it might help.

Hi DaneA,
Thanks for your response. The page you directed me to would discusses using the fw as a VPN server, I mentioned I did not want to do that in my first paragraph.
However, through alternative testing, I later discovered our server was the problem and not the port mapping at the Netgear.
