FVS336G - multi homing configuration problem

Hi,

I have two different networks:
192.168.22.0/24
172.16.248.128/25

FVS336G firewall's IP is 192.168.22.1. This is also the default network gateway.
FVS336G multi homing settings are:
IP: 172.16.248.254
NETMASK: 255.255.255.128

The hosts connected to the second network are using 172.16.248.254 as gateway.

I'm able to ping a public IP form the first network but I cannot from the second network.
The message error is Destination Host Unreachable.

where I'm wrong ?

In the routing table of the FVS336G I don't see any rule that involve the second network subnet, is that correct ?

Thanks,

  • Add Secondary LAN IP Address
To add a secondary LAN IP address, type in the IP Address and the Subnet Mask in the respective text fields and click Add.
Note: Additional IP addresses cannot be configured in the DHCP server. The hosts on the secondary subnets must be manually configured with the IP addresses, gateway IP and DNS server IPs

    try gateway with 192.168.22.1
  • Hi thanks for your response.
I've tried to do this but I cannot because the gateway's IP is not in the host subnet.

Have I to setup some routing rule in the FVS336G ?
  • Good news !

    I've hard-restarted the FVS336G and all works fine !

    Thank you !
  • Question June, Does the secondary network have DHCP as well, or is it only for the primary LAN?
  • There is no dhcp on multi homing

Srxn with 4wan has vlan which can do dchp on each vlan

    Or prosecure UTM
