FVS336G Port Forwarding for VNC Access
Hi there,
I've just set up an FVS336G and would like to forward some ports for VNC. I'd like to be able to VNC into each computer on the network independently.
On my previous BT2700HGV, I set up a port forward for each computer. However, I'm not sure how to set that up on the FVS336G.
For example, ComputerA is set to use port 6001, so I set up port 6001 to forward to the IP of computer A, 192.168.1.2.
On the FVS336G, I can get that to work by using a LAN Wan Rule - Inbound Service, however, it only works for the first rule on that list. If I add a second rule for ComputerB on port 6002, that one doesn't work. If I disable the rule for 6001, 6002 works, or if I move 6002 to be top of the list, it works, and 6001 (now second in the list) doesn't work. IE only the first rule in that list works.
I then read this post which suggested an alternative way of doing it, but that doesn't seem to be working either.
Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks.

- Daedalus01AspirantHmm. Thats odd. I have a FVS336G and have 4 custom rules and they all work. Are you telling the rule to send it to a single address, or a group? I've seen it where if you specify a range that it will act the way you describe.
- fergusmacdonaldAspirantThanks for getting back to me.
I'm telling them all to use a single IP address. The only other thing that I can think of that might be relevant is that on the internet connection that they come through, the BT2700 is set to forward a range of ports to the FVS336G.
IE it's set to forward 6000-7000 to IP 10.0.2.2 which is the IP of the FVS336G on its network (IE each modem is in DHCP mode and then the FVS336G requests a static IP from it). - aditMentorGet rid of the double NAT.
- fergusmacdonaldAspirantWhich router should have NAT turned off? I don't think the BT2700 can have NAT turned off, on the DG834 (our other router), there is an option to turn NAT off, but it says:
NAT allows all LAN PCs to gain Internet access via this Router, by sharing this Router's WAN IP address. In most situations, NAT is essential for Internet access via this Router. You should only disable NAT if you are sure you do not require it. When NAT is disabled, only standard routing is performed by this Router.
If I turn it off, do I need to change some settings on the FVS336G? Perhaps not make it request a static IP or something like that? - Daedalus01Aspirant

A single IP? What do you mean? When you specify that particular port 6000, you can only send it to the PC you want to respond. 6001 has to be a different PC IP address.
192.168.0.1 6000
192.168.0.2 6001
etc.
If you send all the ports to only one IP, that would be why you can only get to one PC rather than all. I'm also with ADIT. Get rid of the double NAT. It causes more problem than it fixes. - jmizoguchiVirtuosoBT2700HGV should be DSL gateway.
You need to put BT2700HGV in bridge mode nor port will not work with FVS336G.
Get rid of double nat
