FVS336G VPN L2TP addressing
Hello Negear Forum, We have a FVS336Gv2 which serves our small business well. Recently I setup the L2TP VPN so I can access servers on our LAN, which is setup 192.168.1.X. The remote VPN L2TP...

Fordem,
Thanks for your informative reply. I have digested your comments over the weekend, and absolutely agree.
I am now suspsicious about the setup of the software on the PC end. As you say the comms channel exists between the PC and Adpro exists, and that just that this particular application is not working. Its windows XP era software, and I am running it on Windows 8.
I will look at this as my next move, and will update as I progress!
Regards,
Roland

Hello,
Just to follow up on this, Unfortunately, despite a good go at it, I have not been able to acheive comms with the Adpro though the VPN. Fine whist at work on the LAN. All other services, email etc work fine through the VPN. No support to us from the manufacturer on this. Frustrating!
Having studied the documentation, the Adpro software sends a packet to the unit on port 15000 and the unit responds back on different ports. The listening ports appear waiting on the PC end, but nothing gets to them.
I have gone as far as I can with this, so for now, its got the better of me.
Roland.

This may be a long shot, but if you have time & are willing to experiment, it might provide additional detail on why it's not working, but not necessarily how ot make it work.
The FVS336G has a packet capture feature (under the diagnostics tab) - try running it whilst the network is quiet (to minimize traffic) and whilst trying to access the adpro - you should be able to see the traffic to the adpro, if it's getting to the LAN, and if the adpro is responding.
Once you have downloaded the capture file from the router you'll need a viewer - try Microsoft Network Monitor

Thanks for the advise, I will give that shot, and see what I can find!
Cheers,
Roland.
