FVS336Gv3 with vDSL (German Telekom) and a ZyXEL Modem

Hi Community,

i got a VPN Router with ADSL 16000 from the German Telekom in use. WAN1. No problems with that.

Now my Provider gives me the possibility to use ADSL *and* vDSL (WAN2) - so i bought a ZyXEL RouterModem and configured it operate:

- to WAN2

- with VLAN7 and Priority 0

- in BRIDGE Mode

The Modems shows green, vDSL is operating good with 50000 down and 10000 up.

The Netgear connects to the modem with LAN1 (Zyxel) to WAN2 (Netgear)

The Netgear got the correct Username and Password.

No Connection made.

My Workarounds:

> I cant order the Netgear to use VLAN7

> The Zyxel can establish the connection with the same username and password successfully

What can i do?

    Hi stagethen,

    Welcome to the community! :)

Let us isolate the problem.  Kindly try to connect the VDSL modem (Zyxel) to the WAN 1 port of FVS336Gv3.  Set the WAN 1 port of the FVS336Gv3 as the only active WAN connection.  Observe what happens.

    Let us know the results.

Meanwhile, the Problem is solved after many days of trouleshooting.

      I a short overview:

      > German vDSL uses vLAN 7 and 8.

      > Netgear cant handle vLAN on the WAN Ports.

      > You need a modem wich can untag the communication asnd tag it while it is going to the internet.

      > the Priority settings must set to zero

      That's it.
