Port Not Open
Hi,
I have a Netgear FVS318G. It is behind a Comcast router set in bridge mode.
I can not access Port 143 for IMAP, for email.
I have the port open on the firewall. I can not telnet into that port from outside my network. Internally I can access the port.
Other ports that I have opened on my firewall are working.
Any ideas?

Sorry I am a little slow. How would I post a screen shot? - aditMentorAttach a pic or use imageshack.us.
- alex_RegisAspirantSorry for the delay. Here is the screen shot

- aditMentorGet rid of all of the "Translate to Port Number" entries. You only use them when you are changing a public port to a different private one. i.e port 81 on the Internet back to port 80 on the LAN.
- alex_RegisAspirantAre you referring to the entries like 192.168.0.91:5060? Those are required for our SIP phone system to work. When we did not have the entries in that format the system did not work.
I did create a custom service for IMAP4 like you suggested. The port now shows open when I scan with ShieldsUP. Using the existing IMAP3 service the port showed closed.
I can internally now connect to my mail server using Thunderbird, when before I could not.
I have not tested externally. - jmizoguchiVirtuosoIt's okay to use port translation but you so not have to use for IMAP /POP that require directly to mail server
