Good day,
We've had our Prosafe VPN router for the last two years and it's been mostly excellent when establishing and remaining on a VPN connection with our main office (using a Dell Sonicwall...

Hello DaneA,
Thank you for the suggestion, I can test this over the weekend. What result should I be expecting by recreating the VPN and IKE policies on our Prosafe FVS318N model? Is there anything I can do before and after making this change to verify that it made a difference?
Sincerely,
Terrence

I just want to follow-up on this. Were you able to try to delete the existing VPN / IKE policies on the FVS318N then recreate it using the VPN Wizard then check if you are able to open the VPN tunnel?
Kindly check also the SA Lifetime. Refer to the forum link below as reference:
SA Lifetime Guidelines for VPN Setup

Yes, I deleted our VPN / IKE policies and used the VPN Wizard and a pre-share key and our remote IP address. Under VPN, Connection Status, the state is set to IPsec SA Established which is normal. And the SA Lifetime is defaulted to 3600 secs.
I cleared the VPN Logs before making the change, and now the most common error is below:
ERROR: Unknown notify message from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx[500].No phase2 handle found
I can wait to see what appears in the logs after 24 hours.
As a side effect, I can no longer refer to servers on either side of the connection by their \\servername, now I'm forced to use \\ip-address, which cause trouble during office hours for mapped drives :S
