replaced hardware same issues - Fvs318N 4.2.1-2 firmware
I am on my second Fvs318N the first unit would randomly stop DHCP and DNS routing and the webpage for administration would become unresponsive.
This one is doing the same thing after about a day.
It would appear these devices cant handle configurations of any reasonable complexity. If I leave the device in its default configuration its fine. My config isnt that odd. I have -
Default Vlan - (DHCP disabled - as I have a DC on this Vlan) (DNS routing and INtervlan com is on)
Home Vlan (ID4) (DHCP scope x.x.10.10-30 ) (DNS proxy and inter Vlan routing is on)
Default Wireless Profile (Vlan ID4) default wireless settups accept Tkip and Wep2
Zero firewall configurations -
Thats it - the device becomes unresponsive every 7-8 hours and needs to be rebooted - rebooting takes 15-20 minutes to get back online. I called my ISP and they confirm my cable model has not dropped a signal in 3 weeks. So far I am really unhappy with this product and replacing it cost me $80 in Currier fees so really what good is a lifetime hardware warranty when using it cost 1/3 of the unit price ?

- WebbsolutionNoviceI also upgraded to the latest firmware -4.3.2-7 reset to factory and I have the exact same behavior - the router will work for about 6-8 hours then go offline - require a reboot and then take 15 minutes to acquire the wan. If I am not here to reset the router ill lose access to this segment of my LAN - thats not acceptable.
I am really out of patience with this product and netgear in general. I dont want to blow another $80 in "lifetime" hardware warranty support fees - I think ill just throw this thing in the garbage and get something new. I have tried 4 revisions of firmware - two physical units and 5- 6 support calls and tickets. - SamirDProdigyTry downgrading the firmware. I have two of these that have uptimes in excess of a few months, but on older firmares.
