Site-to-site IPSec VPN & More for BR500 Router Updates with Insight IM5.6 Release

We are pleased to announce the release of firmware version 5.6.0.1 for BR500 that offers the addition of IPSec VPN support as well as many improvements to the existing features to enhance the performance and stability of the product.

 

List of new features include:

• Support site-to-site (Network to Network) IPSec VPN. Both IKEv1 and IKEv2 are supported. This means that BR500 can now interface with any router that can support IPSec and establish a site-2-site VPN link.
• Remote tech support mode  – this means that upon user’s permission, NETGEAR’s tech support team can remotely log in to the BR500 through a secure connection to perform diagnostics and troubleshooting.

To update the firmware of BR500 if it is connected to the Insight cloud, schedule or perform an update using the Insight app or through the web portal.
