SRX5308 can't access WAN 2

Just done this again. Schecduled it for out of hours. It didn't roll over.
I unplugged WAN 1 expecting it to roll over to WAN 2. I did not. So I manually switched it so that WAN2 was the default connection. This just yielded an amber "Internet" LED. I couldn't access the Admin Panel at 192.168.1.9 and I also couldn't access the any external IP.
This is clearly more complex than a simple, set it as a roll over and job done. It's not working that way for me :(
