Adding Access Point to Nighthawk R8000
I am attempting to understand the term "mesh" networking. I need to add an access point Netgear WAX610 to my LAN which has a R8000 as the router. If I do connect it, is it considered now a meshed network?

No. A true Mesh network roams seamlessly between routers and satellites. Something you don't get if you use a non-Mesh router and an AP. In a Mesh network, clients are able to jump between points without interruption.

Thank you for the quick response.
Since my issue is for my home and has limited users my question becomes, is there any significant advantage or in other words, any appreciable gain by replacing my R8000 with a new "mesh" capable router and adding another new AP? Or, since I can easily run wire to a new AP from my existing R8000 I can save some money. I know that wifi extenders lose transmission speed about 40%, but where a wired AP I thought would lose none and thus is better than an extender. Correct?
