Configured AP in Standalone Mode. Can I safely enable Insight Managed without loosing configurations

Hi there,

I have scanned the QR code and registered my WAX610 after connecting it to an internet accessible switch.

During initial setup, I found that I had the option to enable Standalone management mode. It made sense to switch since I was configuring advanced features such as vlans and the likes.

The AP is now fully configured and I am thinking about changing management mode to Insight, so that I can see its details when I am on the road. I have tried to find documentation that explains what happens when you change management mode. but can't find any.

My concern is that my app doesn't know about the configuration parameters setup on the AP since changing management mode to Standalone. Does that mean that I will loose all the configuration that I have defined, when I change management mode to Insights?

Hopefully someone can confirm this.

Btw, I am on the latest firmware.

Yes. Netgear Insight is not about managing existing local device configs. This does include the local admin password which goes under the control of Insight, for the site configuration data.

Thank you. I will remain in standalone mode then.

It is a shame, though, that you can't have both.
