Hooking up a Netgear access point

I have a netgear wac104 AP that has been hooked up to a suddenlink combination modem / router for almost a year.  The internet speed was 400mg.  When I initially set up the AP it automatically found my network and assigned new wireless addresses that were different from the suddenlink addresses by putting the word netg in front tof the accesses.  I was able to set up a different password for the AP and all was fine.  Yesterday suddenlink install a new modem/router that supports 1 GB.  Now the AP will not work.  When I try to set it up it automatically uses the same wireless addresses as the Suddenlink router does and I cannot change them.  I have tried resetting to factory settings and read everything I can find and nothing works.  If I have wifi turned off on my computer and plug an ethernet cable to the AP I cannot log into the AP.  If I hook my computer up via ethrnet to the suddenlink and connect the AP via ethernet to the suddenlink I can sign on using the ip of 192.168.0.1 and a not the default userid.  I have done both a hard reset on the rear access of the AP and also the restore factory defaults in the login utilities but the sign on and password does not reset to what the installation guide says it came with.   I am not really knowledgable on networks and have tried everything I could find.  I am at a loss as what to do except pay for net gear support.  If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

    Jluchuk,

    Welcome to the community! :)

If I hook my computer up via ethrnet to the suddenlink and connect the AP via ethernet to the suddenlink I can sign on using the ip of 192.168.0.1 and a not the default userid.

Since you can login to the web-GUI through this method, what is the current firmware of the WAC104?  If ever the firmware is not yet the latest version, I suggest you to upgrade it.  The latest WAC104 firmware is v1.0.4.13 and you can download it here.

Also, since you did a factory reset on your WAC104, kindly try to disconnect it from the existing network and connect a PC directly to it.  Then, try to access the web-GUI using the default credentials.

    Regards,
