iPhone Privacy Warnings with WAX610(Y)
Hi!
In my house I have total 4 access points WAX610, one of them is a WAX610Y. The router is a Fritzbox 7590 with Wifi turned Off (as I only use the WAX610 to have Wifi 6)
I am confused by the iPhones reporting a "Privacy Warning" when they find the Wifi Network.
From what I can see I have set everything in the way Apple wants it. What could be the reason?
I set them all to SSID visible, WPA3 Personal Mixed (WPA2+3), optional 802.11w (PMF). Both bands (2.4 and 5Ghz) activated, MAC-control is off, VLAN 1, Client-isolation off, Captive Portal Off, Rate Limit off, Band Steering Off.
Fast Roaming is On, Load Balancing Off. Radio Mode always 11ax, Broadcast to Unicast Off, IGMP Snooping Off
Any idea?
I am also happy for any suggestions to improve my settings in general for best roaming, although I'd say it is working okay!

I'm not sure if this is related to WAX610Y.

The Iphones Wifi Setting for that SSID are set to "private MAC address" and to limit the tracking of the IP address .
I also reconnected the Wifi, rebooted the iPhones and router, updated everything, etc, but the problem persists.

This is a nonsense. The random MAC is supposed to avoid tracking by WiFi and other operators based on the device MAC, eg. when you are moving through the country using that same MAC address on different WiFi networks.
The MAC does never leave the local network context. There is no reason to operate Ransom MAC on your home or business network!
The internal IP addresses as well as your Internet connection public IP remains the very same.
With Apples recent iOS update, they are issuing a similar warning if the IP relay on the home and business routers don't offer DNSsec. In fact, virtually no home or SMB or business routers allow any kind of encrypted DNS because it breaks content filtering, Business Policies, and much more.
Completely ridiculous what Apple - not offering any home and business WiFi and routers - does try to enforce here.
Said that: This is not a problem with the WiFi Access Points. Much more a router issue.
