Optimizing Wi-Fi Coverage Across a Multi-Bay Dealership Lot (John Autos Feedback)
Hi everyone,
I'm currently updating the network setup for our local dealership site. John autos, and wanted to share some feedback while asking for community advice on hardware placement.
We run a used car dealer business locally, and our setup requires seamless Wi-Fi coverage spanning from the main office sales desk out across our vehicle inventory lot. both our staff and customers browsing for a used car in Leighton Buzzard rely heavily on a stable connections to check online vehicle histories, inspect stock details, and complete digital paperwork right on the lot.
Currently, we are using NETGEAR mesh system or outdoor directional antennas specifically for large outdoor commercial lots or auto dealership ? Any recommendations on ideal height placement or weatherproofing tips to maintain fast speed for visiting customers would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for any insights!

More detail would be useful.
Netgear appears to sell only one outdoor rated WiFi access point:

Mekaeln HappyCat Thechnically and logically, there are two models: The Simple locally and Insight manageable WBE700Y, plus the slightly more sophisticated WBE708Y, which can be managed by Netgear Insight and Netgear Engage if wally brain is right late night.
When I understand it right, this car dealership is UK based. Have no insight when the WBE708Y will become available worldwide, and specifically in the UK.
Give us (as the community) or NETGEAR for a project presales study some idea how far these sales areas are spanning. Can't come to a conclusion just by looking at Google Maps ...
Both WBE700Y and 708Y supports mesh and also manageable through Insight. While we called it out in the data sheet about Insight management it wasn't mentioned in the "products" page like we did for other APs. We will fix it ASAP.
If it is a large outdoor space then I recommend using the WBE700Y with "external" antenna. The "external" antenna comes with the AP (no additional purchase needed).

Earlier, Netgear used to offer Network and Wireless Design Support Services. How can customers like Mekaeln get this process started nowadays? It's now hard to find, the earlier forms have disappeared with the renewed NTGR Web Design unfortunately.

For a dealership lot, outdoor access points designed for commercial use are usually more reliable than standard mesh units. Mount them high with clear line of sight, use weatherproof enclosures/cables, and plan overlapping coverage so customers can move around the lot without losing connection.
