WAC104 Ethernet Ports
Has anyone set up a WAC104 yet? I have unboxed and started reading the instructions and it appears that I lose one of the four ethernet ports for a connection to the router. I need all four ports. Am I misreading something. Thanks.
Hello JimB71,
Welcome to the community!
This is the way an AP (Access Point) is designed, it is meant to be plugged into a router so the usage of one of the ports is necessary. You might be pertaining to a wireless repeater (which picks up wireless and broadcasts its own). This can be setup as a wireless bridge, however, you'll need another WAC104 to accomplish that setup. The first WAC104 will be plugged in to the router and the other one will be configured as a wireless bridge. Another option is to just connect a switch to the WAC104 if you need more ports.
Thanks,
