WAX 620 Access Point Testing coverage

I recently moved from a single-story home to a two-story home. I have a WAX 620 access point and for coverage purposes I am considering placing it in the upstairs of the New Home. The upstairs does not cover the entire first floor. It only covers the second half of the house. I have some questions as follows:

Is there a way for me to test the WAX 620 signal strength in the rooms that are on the first floor?

Should I just get a range extender and place it on the first floor or should I reverse the WAX 620 and the range extender by placing the 620 on the first floor and the range extender on the second floor given that most of the computer systems and network is on the first floor?

Plenty of more or less sophisticated Apps available - for Android phones (complain to Crapple, not to Netgear) for this purpose, for example

No, get a second WAX6xx properly connected to your LAN with a network cable, ideally PoE+ powered from a switch.
