WAX204 bridge mode

I recently bought a WAX204  to use in bridge mode

First connect the WAN port of the WAX204 to a LAN port on the router and connect your PC to a LAN port on the WAX204

The WAX204 goes through startup doing things like a firmware update - its temporarily getting internet over WAX204 WAN -> router LAN cable

You then choose bridge option and the important part is to edit the WiFi settings on the bridge setup page

These need to be the WiFi SSID, password, security of your router - just like if you were connecting a laptop to your router by WiFi

I chose to use a static IP address for the WAX204 itself - even though it says to use DHCP - to set a static address you need to know a spare IP address for the WAX204 and know the IP of the router 

After entering those details and the WAX204 reboots you disconnect WAX204 WAN -> router LAN cable

If the wireless bridge comes to life then the PC will work again and you can access the WAX204 using the static IP set above

But if the WAX204 doesnt join to the router then there's no DHCP so the PC likely wont talk to the WAX204. You can temporarily give the PC a static IP on the same address range and have another go at the WiFi settings in the WAX204

It did work but I found issues with the router getting confused with multiple LAN clients over the bridge - MAC address confusion I think - so I went back to using an AV1000 power-line to get a wired connection and I'm using the WAX204 in AP mode instead now
