WAX214v2 use POE instead of POE+ redux
Have the same issue as prosyn in his post "WAX214v2 use POE instead of POE+" Need to know what the resolution to this situation is. Switch is Cisco WS-3650 running Cisco IOS XE Software, Version 16...
Nivedita looks to me like the negotiated power is perfectly sufficient, with some 25.5W available on the PD. For whatever reason the WAX214v2 does here again only recognizes some 5W ... no idea. Looks like an interop issue to me.
It seems to run ok, and is getting powered, just worry that it might have issues if it thinks it's underpowered.
Was hoping that one of the employees let me know what to check to make sure it's actually ok with the power supplied.
Will see if they get back to me.

Not a Netgear rep here, however I try to answer anyway; When operating a WAX214v2 on 802.11af, the WebUI does indeed report this fancy "PoE/AF Input power detected. Use POE+ or AT Switch or Power Adapter to power the AP." Don't see any power conserving settings in place, the 5 GHz radio does continue to operate on up to 80 MHz bandwidth, the WiFi clients still sync and operate on 1201 Mbps at 5 GHz (that would be the case on bigger WAX2xx/6xx or WBE7xx where 160 and 320 MHz bandwidth would be put in place). I guess that "check" is in place from the WAX218 model, so suspect a "false positive" indication..
Looking from a different perspective, 802.11af does offer up to 15,4W at the PD (powered device). This is well within the power draw of the WAX214v2 of 15.1W, as shown in the tech data on the data sheet and/or the user manuals. Therefore, there is no reason to lower the power.
