Hello sillysod81,
It is a procedure for performing a hard reset, but I believe pushing the button while its off is to prepare it being held down when you will turn it on. The serial port is used by engineering only so I can't give any commands and it will void warranty if you try it yourself. The best thing you can do is to contact our Support Team, have it diagnosed or if necessary it will be replaced. ProSafe products has a lifetime hardware warranty, just submit a copy of the proof of purchase.
Thanks,

Hi JohnRo
Thank you for your reply.
I followed your instructions, but still no web interface. Can I ask what holding in the reset button while the unit is powered off is meant to do? The lights on the front come on as per normal, the power led goes solid green and the WiFi lights start to flash and then they go out, the power led turns orange and it starts it's boot again until which time it gives up and only the LAN led's stay on.
Is there a way to upload the firmware via the serial port? If so what cable/software would I need. I'm currently running Win 10, but have access to an older computer with a serial port if needed.
At the moment its an expensive metal box so any further help you can give would be very much appreciated.
Thanks :)
