The download for the WAX610 firmware version 12.5.0.15 contains a TAR file within the TAR file so the upgrade does not recognise it. I got it to work by unzipping the inner TAR file but you might want to replace the file so other users don't need to do this.157Views0likes2CommentsFW page shows 'Updates Available'
Experiencing the same thing with WBE750 APs. Notification that FW updates are available went out and the FW page shows 'Updates Available' in some icons, but when you attempt to 'update' it just says you are on the latest version already (it's not). The manual files are not available on the downloads page either, so it's not possible to do it through the local interface. Forcing a factory reset and starting the device up from new also does not appear to make a difference (ask me how I know). Hoping this gets sorted out within a couple of days559Views1like10CommentsWAX625 | No firmware 12.5.0.12 inside Netgear Insight list
Hi, On Jan 6, 2026, 10:02 PM PT, I received alert from Netgear Insight Alert (via e-mail) that new firmware is available: WAX625/WAX628 Firmware Version 12.5.0.12 I am interested in installing this firmware as it supposedly fixes issues with random reboots and I was experiencing something similar where device just locks itself and all SSIDs become unavailable and the only remedy was power restart. Those power restarts are not trivial for me because WAP is PoE powered and high up on the wall. I was forced to buy a timer which cuts out power to the whole network rack including main router (fw) and WAX625. I went into the Netgear Insight > Firmware > Set Target Firmware (upper right corner) to find this firmware 12.5.0.12 and it is not on the list. The latest I see is 11.8.0.9 which appears to be also the one I have installed and the latest one listed on the product page: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/wax625 So, I am wondering what is going on here? Why did I get this e-mail when the firmware is not generally available for install? Thank you!1.1KViews6likes13CommentsNetgear WiFi 7 WBE710 802.11k/v Disabled After FW upgrade.
I upgraded to V11.8.0.14 and I'm not seeing on my devices that 802.11k/v are now disabled. I know 802.11r is only supported with InSights but now they are disabling features? I rolled back to V11.5.1.5 and then they show enabled. Why is Netgear disabling features for APs? Is anyone else seeing the same? You can't even open a support case with Netgear without paying nowadays. This are extremely useful protocols for device roaming and now they are disabled in the backend? I would like an explanation. Factory reset performed made no difference. Quick Configuration Settings - Everything else is default. Static LAN IP Configured 192.168.x.x SystemName Set LED Disabled - High doubt it is this. I've seen weirder Single SSID Configured WPA3/WPA2 Personal VLAN ID configured Band Steering Enabled Wireless Settings - 2.4/5/6Ghz All 3 bands are configured with Dynamic Channel Width267Views0likes0CommentsInsight offering Updates already in place?
Dear Pramendra What is going on in the Insight platform? Strange to see update proposals for devices with certainly the latest firmware in place already? Insight does list any Netgear device, including many not supported by Insight? TIA, -Kurt.257Views0likes6CommentsNetgear Access Point for Handling RSSI and CSI
I am trying to develop a system using some Access Points that support the following functions. Please let me know if there is a Netgear Access Point that supports the following functions. It would be appreciated to let me know. - Ability to collect smartphone MAC address, RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) information, etc. - Ability to collect CSI (Channel State Information) information and send it to a PC (In this case, Access Point can be set as a receiver or sender) - Network analysis must be possible by installing OpenWRT. - Ability to send MAC address, RSSI, CSI information data to a PC Many Thanks.191Views0likes2CommentsWAX615 Mehrere APs als quasi Mesh nutzen
