Wifi on VLAN GC728X

Hi There,
I have a customer with an GC728X switch.
There are two network configured on a Ubiquty Wifi AP and an Ubiquty gateway.
192.168.1.x for the business LAN and wifi

200.254.254.x for a wifi guest network with VLAN ID 20

The wifi ap is connected to port 13

I've made all the ports a member of VLAN ID 20 and VLAN ID 1. I can connect to the wifi guest network but do not receive an IP Address.
Can some please tell me how to configure this?

Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
John

  • Hi JohndB,

    Welcome to our community! :)

You may need to assign the ports as T or Tagged going to the router and to your AP so that it can passthrough the VLAN in your switch. Please make sure that every VLAN aware devices was set to Tagged.

    e.g.

    GC728X

    Port 1 - Ubiquity Gateway

    Port 13 - Wifi AP

    VLAN 1

    Port 1 - T - PVID 1

    Port 13 - T - PVID 1

    VLAN 20

    Port 1 - T - PVID 1

    Port 13 - T - PVID 1

Then try to do ipconfig/renew and let's see if it will now provide an IP.

    Regards,
