Port Description with the VLAN ID
As of writing (7.5.2026) it seems that Engage is over writing the Port Description with the VLAN ID and profile name (VID:10,Livewire+). Kind of handy when you want to know which AV profile is in use in which port, but I still miss the opportunity to name fixed install devices. Anyway to combine these? Like "VID:10,This is my custom text".

This is a useful observation, and I’ve noticed the same behavior with Engage overwriting the port description with the VLAN/profile info.
It would definitely be helpful if there was a way to append or combine custom text with the auto-generated VLAN details instead of replacing it entirely. Something like keeping both the system info (VID/profile) and a user-defined label would make large fixed installs much easier to manage.
Curious if anyone has found a workaround for preserving custom port naming while still keeping the Engage VLAN updates visible.
