Decreased bandwidth on WIFI
I've owned the SXR80 for a while now and really like it. Recently, I've upgraded my home internet to a 1000 GB/S (up/down) fiber optic system. When i do a speedtest in the Orbilogin in page I get just that 1000 both ways. I've never been able to get over 600mb/s over wifi. I'm wondering if there's a setting somewhere that I'm missing. I have 2 satellites hook up and my technical info is as follows.
| Hardware Version | SXR80 |
| Firmware Version | V4.2.3.102 |
| GUI Language Version | V1.0.0.423 |
| Operation Mode | Router |
| LAN Port | |
| MAC Address | 94:18:65:69:42:3E |
| IP Address | 192.168.1.1 |
| DHCP Server | On |
| Management Mode | Local Web Browser |

The built-in speed test does indeed check the direct connection as available on your Orbi Pro router.

What wireless client are you using for the test? This is the area where most limitations are - rarely the Orbi Pro system or the like.

WiFi speed depends on:
- The capability of the WiFi access point. The SXR80 supports WiFi6 (802.11ax) with 4x4 MIMO (Four antennas) for a maximum theoretical capability of 2400Mbps. (This is the number the Marketing department wants printed on the Product Data Sheet and sales literature. Notice the tiny footnote symbol leading to the comment -- oops. They seem to have omitted the footnote!)
- The capability of the individual device. Devices supporting WiFi5 (802.11ac) are simply not capable of speeds higher than 600Mb. Devices supporting WiFi6 (802.11ax) with 2x2MIMO (two antennas) have a theoretical capability of around 1 gigabit. (Consumer devices with 4x4MIMO are extremely rare.)
- How close they are to the WiFi access point. Speed falls off dramatically as the distance increases.
- How much bandwidth is being used by other devices.
There are excellent articles on the internet describing what WiFi speeds to expect in different scenarios.
Which devices are being used to measure WiFi speed?
