How does Orbi work without separating bands
How does the Orbi work if I don't separate the 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz bands? I read that a connected device will use whichever band it is able to use. But if I want my streaming devices to use the 5Ghz band will they or do I have to separate the bands and connect the device to the 5 Ghz band?
Also, how does the Orbi handle bandwidth if I don't specify how much bandwidth each network should have?

I don't know the exact algorithm as well as a lot of device dependant on its own roaming/band steering protocols.
But usually when I reinstall or reset my mesh systems, it usually takes a couple days for things to "settle down" and everything connect to the proper band that is needed. Sometimes devices will be on the 2.4ghz when I'd wish they were on the 5ghz but it tends to be when I'm not using as much bandwidth on them.
