Security Setting Blocking Ads and Videos When Connected To Ethernet

I am trying to troubleshoot an issue where my network is blocking sites with Ads and Videos. I know this sounds great because it's an automatic ad blocker but my job is auditing sites and I really need to be able to see all of the ads and videos for work. 

I'm stumped and dumbfounded here, but here's where I'm at...

• My desktop (Mac Studio running on Sonoma 14.1) won't load ads when visiting websites that have ads and pop-over videos. They just won't load and when I run inspect tools via my browsers (yes, multiple so I know it's not browser-related) I don't get anything. It's just being blocked and most isn't even loading for me to see in the browser.
• My laptop (Macbook running Sonoma 14.1) is just fine and loads these ads and videos.
• I thought it may be something related to the computer settings because both computers are on the same network but I haven't found anything. However, I connected to my mobile hotspot from my desktop and ads started to load. 
• The only real difference is that one is over wifi and the other is connected via ethernet. I disconnected ethernet and just over wifi and still no change. 
• I recently disconnected ethernet and then I removed the wifi network from my computer ('forget network') to reconnect fresh again. When I did this I am now seeing ads again. Voila!
• When I reconnect the ethernet ads are gone again and I'm back where I started.

What is the likely issue here?? I would like to be hardlined in to my network rather than working over wifi but I don't know why ads and videos are being blocked. 

The only other information I haven't provided is that I'm connected straight to the main router, not one of the satellites. I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not.
