Share printer on one VLAN with another VLAN : SXK30 Orbi Pro Wifi 6 Mini
Hi,
Our SXK30 has two active VLANs / LANs.
1. Default (Admin) 192.168.1.x
20. Employee 192.168.20.x
The company printer is on the Default (Admin) VLAN / LAN as 192.168.1.50
I want an employee on the 192.168.20.x VLAN / LAN to be able (if we add the printer's IP address when we add the new printer) to be able to print out to it.
I ONLY want the employee to have access to the printer on the admin VLAN / LAN and Internet. Access to all other devices on the 192.168.1.x network would be blocked.
Thus I can't turn on network isolation for the Employee VLAN / LAN as they need access to the printer on the Admin VLAN / LAN.
Do I need any unique routing / ACL rules for this?

You'd have to set a firewall rule that only allows one device in VLAN1 to be accessed by any VLANs though the SXK30 doesn't have that kind of configuration.
To start, were you able to access the printer even if you're in VLAN20?
If so, what you can try is to create a new VLAN, let's say "printer" VLAN and connect the printer to that VLAN. In this setup, both VLAN1 and VLAN20 can print to it then try enabling network isolation on those same VLANs as well.
Also, kindly check if the firmware is the latest version.

From 4.2.1.112, SXK30 supports mDNS service which allows clients communicate with printer in different VLANs. The feature is located at ADVANCE page. Check it out.
