I am trying to replace the CR100B Verizon Router with an SXR30 Router and 1 satellite. I have reset the router to factory settings and it ended with a solid white light. I connected to the router u...

I spent 2 hours in a chat with Verizon and they were no help whatsoever. They would not answer a question as basic as, "Do you support 34d party routers in place of your own equipment?"
However, I did finally find the attached document. It appears that the ODN holds onto the IP address lease for their modem blocking attempts to replace their router. By issuing a command to release the IP address on the Verizon router and immediately unplugging it, I could then install the SXR30 with no issues.
Note that the document is from Verizon. All they kept saying was they didn't recommend 3rd party devices as they had a bunch of value added features that they could not elaborate on.
The Verizon solution was to replace the router with an older version (a CR1000A instead of CR1000B) and add 2 network extenders of their own. The newer router my son already had would have to be hardwired to the extenders while the older one could work wirelessly.

Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router.

Try option #2 first...
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

I don't think I explained correctly. I am disconnecting the Verizon CR100B and putting the CXR30 in its place. The modem is a Nokia P/N 3FE52343APBB
Thanks.

Something to ask the ISP about. Ask them about any special WAN side configurations or if the ISP gateway is required or can be replaced.
