SXS80s lose ability to recognize devices when daisy chain through XS508TM
I introduced a XS508TM switch into a working network with SXR80 router connected to 3 SXS80 satellites. This replaced a unmanaged switch (updated becomes wanted capacity of multi-speed ports and to do inter-VLAN routing, etc). The wired backhaul of one satellite is remains connected directly to SXR80 router. The wired backhaul of the other two satellite go to 2 ports on XS508TM switch. I am using the default port configuration. Wireless devices can no longer connect to mesh through either of the 2 switches. The wireless device can connect to mesh when next to the one satellite with backhaul wired to SXR80 router. If I remove the wired backhaul connections from the 2 satellites, then the wireless device connects without issues. This issues seems to be independent of the WLAN SSID used.
Is this a Orbi issue or a configuration issue on XS508TM switch?

Would it be correct to assume that default port configuration implies that there are no VLAN settings configured on this switch? (i.e. it is set to function like a typical Layer 2 switch?)
VLANs introduce a whole "can of worms".
The problem is stated in terms of WiFi devices not being able to connect to any of the SXR80's WiFi networks. What happens when a device is connected to one of those satellites with Ethernet?

Thanks. You are correct...VLAN default settings on XS508TM switch are causing the issue. Network connection between Satellite and wireless + wired devices works fine when unmanaged switch is between satellite and router. When using the managed switch, the satellite will only connect to devices (wired or wireless) when I set a static IP for the default VLAN.
"A can of worms" is true, even after researching and working through the manual to configure VLAN settings right.
Thanks

Try this on your XS series managed switch and see if it changes anything for the ethernet connected satellites?
Setup a VLAN name for something intuitive. Name it OrbiRBSEthernet for example.
Input 4091 for VLAN ID.
Set all Port Members for this VLAN configuration to TAG ALL.
Apply the configuration.
