Using DHCP Rather Than Static Adress to Hook To Internet Using Orbi SXR30

We have an ORBIPro SXR30.  Currently it hooks to the internet through a Fiber modem.  It uses a static address for the IP Gateway on the router WAN settings.

We are changing services.  The new service is COAX from Spectrum.

Do I really need a static address to hook to the modem or can I use DHCP and allow the Spectrum ISP to assign the address.  Is that what the Assign IP Address Automatically does in the WAN IP (not LAN) section of the configuration.

Something to ask the ISP about. Most common ISPs use DHCP. There are some that may need specific configurations. The ISP will know this.

    You should be fine.

Unless you're using the static public IP address (different from private) for outside services/servers
