Weird IPv6 DHCP using SXR80 with SXS80

Hi,

I found a weird behavior. After successfully connecting to WIFI, I get immediately a proper IPv4 address and all is fine. Looking forward to IPv6 (since more ISPs change to 6 only) I discovered a weird problem. A ping6 to the host is not possible. ifconfig shows only local address. Waiting a while I see a proper IPv6 address and everything works as expected. But the time I have to wait seems random to me (and maybe I trigger it by communicating in my network).

This behavior is ONLY when using the Netgears as Access Point.

  • LAN: no problem
  • WLAN connection to my Internet Router (FritzBox 7590): no problem
  • WLAN to SX80: the described problem

Now, this is not only on my home - Same setup (NG as AP) at a different location: Exact Same behavior.

So for me is clear: Some is blocked by NG devices.

Any idea? (I ran out of it ;-)

Thx

Ralf

If you set up the SXR in AP mode, then IPv6 would be disabled on the SXR and just work as a pass thru for IPv6 being handled by the Fritzbox since there is a router there already and would be in a double NAT condition if you had the SXR in router mode. Would need to use the Fritzbox DMZ to avoid double NAT issues if you have the SXR in router mode.
