I've been dealing with this issue since the latest update Firmware Version
V1.0.9.64_10.2.64 . Model: R7000|Nighthawk AC1900 Dual Band WiFi Router
As you mentioned, the speed drops off drastically :-(
Enabled Disney circle at Parental control. (basic service) Cable or WIFI Internet speed drops
