Orbi RBR50 parental controls not working
I have an RBR50 and two RBS50 satellites that work great. I purchased a Parental Controls subscription about 2 years ago, and I noticed in the last 3 months that it no longer works. I have been attempting to fix this issue for a few weeks now but to no avail. Specifically, I have reset my Orbi system several times, and I have updated my firmware twice. The router and two satellites are now running the latest v2.7.5.4 Completely stumped and frustrated…Unable to connect circle app with Nighthawk R7960P Router
I am using the Nighthawk R7960P router with the Circle app. I have been using the circle app for over two years, and I turned off the internet for my son's laptop. Now the circle app is not able to connect Netgear router. I always get an error message saying, "Can't connect Circle". I tried clearing the cache, reinstalling the app, and installing the app on android and iOS devices, but no luck. Any help on this issue? Thanks SatishParental controls for R6900v2
Today, I upgraded my Nighthawk R6900v2 firmware to V1.2.0.92_1.0.1 1. The R6900v2 documentation dated Feb 2022 says I should be able to use parental controls https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/R6900v2/R6900v2_UM_EN.pdf 2. When I click on parental controls in my updated NetGear genie, it says my firmware does not support Live Parental Controls, and says the following: Checking router firmware We're making sure you have firmware that supports Live Parental Controls. Your router's current firmware does not support Live Parental Controls. Please go to http://www.netgear.com/ to download the latest firmware or use the "Router "Upgrade" feature in your routers web GUI at http://www.routerlogin.net/ to update the firmware first. 3. This webpage says the R6900v2 is not supported for Circle Smart parental controls https://kb.netgear.com/000044718/Which-NETGEAR-routers-support-Circle-Smart-Parental-Controls 4. This URL says: NOTE: The Live Parental Controls service is no longer supported on NETGEAR devices as of December 31, 2021 due to low usage. Is there any other 3rd party way to set this up, or am I stuck with no parental controls vs having to purchase a new unit? Creating a new thread to focus on this one issue. I don't believe this is a general slow wifi/slow internet issue, but is clearly Circle related. All tests done on wired connection via my Netgear R7000. I have a cable internet plan advertised as 150/15. This was all done on firmware 1.0.9.14, and I did a factory reset and setup my options yesterday fresh. I have never enabled QoS or Web Traffic. I do have IPv6 configured and it works. Circle was enabled now for 24 hours. Speed slowly sinks down to 37Mbps. I see this speedtest: Turn off Circle via webpage on router and hit apply. This saves quickly, no reboot of router. Now I see full speed, and see how solid the download speed is? I turn Circle back on, hit apply and I get this speed test. All tests run inside 2 minutes: Turn Circle back off, and retest. Going to leave it off for 24 hours now to test: Looking for any support from Netgear if this is expected, and if it is fixable. Willing to help test if needed, as Cirlce seems like a great feature.Circle limits the speed of gig router by more than half.
I have fiber coming to my house so my internet speeds run 950Mbps download at the modem, into the router and to my computer via wifi UNTIL I enable Circle Parental controls. My speeds immediately sink to 250 Mbps! I disable parental controls and it goes right back up to 950Mbps. I turn on parental controls and it immediately falls to 2/3rds of what it was before. This is the second of these routers that I have bought because Netgear support told me the first new one was bad and it shouldn’t limit it like that. Well, the second one does the same thing. It is a software problem. Why bother putting parental controls on an expensive gig router if you can’t use it?!Disney Circle goes offline everyday
Many people seems to have this issue, but can't find any solutions. Disney parental control goes offline everyday, which makes it useless. I bought this router because it had the circle embedded, I regret my purchase. I have R7000 Nighthawk, v1.0.9.42 firmware. Any clues?
