Admin pw not working for nighthawk app on android device

I am able to sign in with admin credentials via browser but when trying to do so in the app, I get an error - "Your router is unreachable. Please check that your router is on. If the issue persists, try rebooting your device." I was having connectivity issues and power cycled my modem, router, and mobile device. When I then went to access the nighthawk app, I was prompted to sign in with admin credentials and received the error. My connectivity I fine - all devices connected to router are working without issue - just can't get back into the nighthawk app. I have deleted the app and tried to install it fresh multiple times with no change. I have also tried going through the process to reset the admin password and each time I enter in a new pw, I am prompted to use the provided temp pw - every time it gives the same temp pw - @newdig - which never works. Not sure where to go from here. Reluctant to do a hard reset on router as everything works fine aside from being able to sign into the nighthawk app.

Is this with local wifi access or Anywhere Access?

It isn't easy to follow that. How are you trying to reset the admin password?

The a web browser and the graphical user interface (GUI) on a wired connection is safest.

The temporary password thing is odd.

Have you gone down the road of a factory reset?

You can reduce the hassle of reconfiguring all your settings by creating a backup of your settings before you reset. Then if something is still broken after the reset, and the new firmware has not fixed it, you can restore the device to its pre-reset state.

Apologies for not being more specific. I am able to sign in via browser on my laptop wired directly to my router with admin username and password. When using the same credentials in the app on my phone I am prompted with the unreachable error.

I have tried resetting the admin password by following the forgot password link within the app on my phone which takes me through to a browser sign in where I click cancel and then am prompted with creating a new password, entering it in a second time, then answering my two security questions. When I go through this process, after submitting is when I'm prompted to use their provided temp pw of @newdig. I have signed in successfully with admin credentials via browser on phone as well as laptop at routerlogin.com.

I have not gone the route of factory reset as everything is functional, connections are solid, and I can access admin features via web browser. The only thing that is not working in this set up is the mobile app as it is repeatedly looking for me to sign in with admin credentials then giving me the 'unreachable' error message each time, even after confirming username and pw are working by signing into routerlogin.com

        Sorry. But more questions.

Is this phone/app the Android version or IoS?

Is this connected to the wifi from the router rather than over the Internet?

Did you set up the router and app for Anywhere Access?

Remember, the login details for the router are not the same as the login details for Anywhere Access.

My recollection, which may be wrong, is that you have to sign into Anywhere Access before you get to the router's login details.

One more question, what is the firmware version on your R6700?

That router was made before the Nighthawk App. It needs the right firmware to use the app.

The Nighthawk app typically doesn't show browsing history. It focuses on settings and network management instead.
