File transfer Genie Windows 10 & iOS Genie

Instructions require Genie open on the Win machine for file transfer to work (which I have yet to attempt from the iPhone). I see no way to close the desktop Genie and yet have it still running in the background as a service. Does this mean, if you want the feature available, you must set Genie to automatically load on boot and then manually minimize?

P.S. Once you start the Genie's generic speed test, how do you stop the thing?

  • Disregard not running in background--it is. Bigger problem is it's not stable. First time opened it stopped running. Second time runtime errors.

What's up? Is this app ready for windows 10 or not?

I downloaded the Win10 app again, installed and it's stable.

However, I don't get the file transfer. I login with the iOS app, click turbo transfer and there's nothing present but an indicator of the wireless network you're currently on (presuming you are) and a black screen?

        Hi Markg2,

The other device/s connected to the network should show up on the list. Also, make sure you have the NETGEAR Genie app/program installed and open on those other devices.

        Regards,
