Netgear Genie app does not open

I've been using this off and on for a few years. Just tried to bring up the Netgear Genie app and it did not respond. The wireless router is working fine. I have a Win 7 desktop PC as the main computer, all up to date.

Can I uninstall and reinstall the Network Genie without disturbing the settings on the WNDR4500 (N900) router? Is it that simple a fix?

    you should be able to. The genie is just an app that has access to the router. It doesn't hold your router settings. I think you're good with uninstalling the genie and re installing it
  • Thanks for the reply Covillen. If there are no further comments to this in a couple of days (no hurry on this I guess) then I'll to the reinstall.
  • Today I uninstalled Netgear Genie and reinstalled it. Works fine now.

      I am having a similar issue with my R6250.  Whenn I try and open it  I get a "Netgear Genie has stopped working" it goes out in windows and looks for a solution. Comes back with a no solution availablle. I have uninstalled and re-installed twice with no success......HELP
