Hi Christian, the Nighthawk R7800 is having firmware version 1.0.2.82. Checked now that this is the latest available.

Hi dipb,
May you factory reset your router by holding down on the reset button for 15+ seconds and running through the setup assistant again using the Nighthawk app.

HI Christian, I would disagree it is a router problem. The Router still works perfectly and why would one reset to factory settings.
The problem is with the app and the same is also evident from other users leavingsuch feedback in Play Store.
No matter you give right pasdsword or wrong password, it smiply says connection to router timed out. This issue cropped up after the latest version of the app was released. You can see the feedback on GooGle Play Store.
It is worth development team focus on the fix.

That is a standard troubleshooting tactic. Certainly more magic than reasoned thinking, but if you aren't prepared to try it, then you probably have to live with things. After all, a reset doesn't have to be permanent.

It might if everyone saw the same behaviour. I don't recall seeing a flood of complaints after the update.
The new version works perfectly here on my R7800.
How are you connecting? Local connection or Anywhere Access?
Both are trouble free at my end.
