1. Genie wont work as descibed
2. Airplay is unstable
3. Random lock/restart
You may run an old and potentially vulnerable firmware (+1y old). Genie will work, but other problems may be related to that version. And you are of cause more vulnerable to cyber attacks.
There is no reason to hope for a firmwareupdate as R8000 is now an older product in Netgears range. So you buy this products with the known flaws, that may or may not be critical to your use, with the well known and -documented support from Netgear.

I purchased mine a year ago and am now with out a job, cannot run out and buy a new one. If I could this is the last Netgear product I will ever purchase again. I will make sure to research and make sure any and all future products are not even affiliated with Netgear!!!!
