R8500 Parental control
Hi,
I want to create a parental for few devices.
On the router that i had before i was able to block MAC Adress during the selected period of time, or to block domain/Peer to peer connections per MAC ADRESS.
But now, as i see, i must use OPENDNS Umbrella control with DNS that is easy to bypass by changing dns setting on the phone/laptop.
And I can't block P2P connection like youtube/netflix mobile app.
I just want to block the total access to internet during a selected period (8pm to 8am) for devices that are on the blacklist.
Have you got any ideas?
Thank You
Hi Jules13,
Welcome to the community!
If you have looked over the option of the LPC feature using OpenDNS, then you may consider the steps below for blocking Internet access for a specific time frame.
What you can try is use a combination of features: Address reservation, Schedule, and Block Services.
First, you can do Address Reservation for your kids devices and set them on a range (i.e. 192.168.1.2-192.168.1.10). Steps are linked below.

Second, set a schedule (i.e. 22:00 to 06:00). Steps are linked below.

Third, set to block all services. Steps are linked below.
