Hi Doraemon!
Thank you for your reply. I can understand that you don't seem to have any trouble. When I used Genie on my iPhone 5s I also never discovered any strange behaviour that I related to Genie. But.... I DID sometimes notice that my battery was 'drained' faster than usual. I DID notice that my 5s was a little warm when I left it lying around and picked it up. But I never ever related this to Genie. Maybe it had nothing to do with it and I used the app on my 5s without problem.
But more recently I upgraded my phone and started to use an iPhone 6s. This phone can use the ac WiFi network at a much higher speed than the 5s can. The 6s can reach over 800Mbps and that works so well that I switched off the 2,4MHZ band on my R7000 router to only use 5MHZ. And maybe this is causing the heated phone I don't know. But I just charged my phone, opened Genie and let my phone be for about 20 minutes. I made coffee. I came back and the Genie app was still open and my phone was HOT! I also saw that the battery level went down from almost full to 40% or so. I closed the Genie app and checked the battery use in the system settings.
In those 20 minutes Genie used 20% of all the energy calculated over the past 24 hours. Which means that in those 20 minutes the use was much higher, because it was calculated over two charge cycles. Even now after 4 days it still is mentioned as 'deleted app.' in my battery settings, that used 10 percent of all battery juice, over the past 7 days. While I had it open for only 20 minutes!
On my computer the Genie app can't be closed. I have to force quit it. Many others complain about this too. And when I look what impact it has on the CPU, there is not other application with such a huge impact. I find this absolutely intolerable and have it deleted from my computer as well.
