I need remote support from NETGEAR for a R7000
My nighthawk router was hacked The IP address changed to 10.0.0.1 It’s name is now local host I renamed the networks and changed the passwords through The router login Then I was unable to access the router login again I did a hard reset on the router and the old router names came back in the Genie App but the new router names still appear in my network settings on my iPhone 7 I have done both a Network reset and a hard reset and we set up of my iPhone I can’t load the latest update because I can’t connect to the network I am in need of remote support from net gear to walk me through getting my device set up and secured again When I tried to sign up for support I get stuck in some kind of a loop and I need to either no the local office in St. Paul or Minneapolis Minnesota that will provide a check to service me or the location where I can find a check to buy a support contract and get support for my productC7000 Nighthawk Parental Control not working by specific device
I have the C7000 Comcast cable modem router and have the genie app installed on my mac and iphone 6plus. I can set the global parental control for any user through opendns but I am not able to set configure device specific web content filtering from the network map in the genie app. The app shows the device is configured to high to block video sharing but I'm still able to get to youtube and espn. Anyone solve this?WARNING! GENIE APP MAY DAMAGE YOUR IPHONE! (and Mac ?)
Genie is a disaster! It has been updated now on iOS several times since I installed it on my iPhone and it seams it has gone from acceptable to unbelievable bad. The Genie app on my MacBook Pro is also the weirdest app that you can imaging! On my iPhone 6s with 64GB running 9.3.1 the app prevents my phone from going into standby and creating an extremely HOT phone! What kind of Guiding Light has written that app!!! It can seriously harm your phone! I am really angry about this kind of weird crapp! On my Macbook Pro it is most likely the same. The (cr) app has a huge impact on energy consumption and it sets your CPU in overdrive! I did not check how HOT my CPU got on my MacBook but Netgear should Get rid of this kind of complete obsolete apps! I think everybody that uses these 2 apps should be aware of the damage that it can cause simply by overheating your device! Delete it! Destroy it! Get Rid of it!Cannot print using Genie app
Hello. I am trying to use AirPrint via USB on router. Genie app crashes every time. Using Nighthawk R7000, latest firmware. V1.0.5.64_1.1.88 El Capitan OS, latest version. 10.11.5 Printer driver works fine, prints well when connected directly to MacBookPro via usb. 1. I can see printer online, while Genie app is on. 2. Printing job is being sent hundreds of times (for some reason). No working signs on printer itself. 3. Genie app crashes. Printer goes offline. Did all app read permissions on all available users, as mentioned on other posts. It is expensive router. Is it broke? Please help, it doesn't seem to be as easy to print online as it is writen in manuals. Kind regards, M.Live Parental Controls Stopped Working
Model: Nighthawk X4S D7800 Firmware: V1.0.1.10 OS: iPad with latest Genie software and iMac (Sierra) with latest Genie software I originally setup parental controls when I purchased the router, 4 months ago without incident. Recently it is no longer working. The Web UI shows NOT ENABLED under the Parental Controls Icon I can log into netgear.opendns.org in a web browser on either device with my credentials without issue. When I try and log in to Parental Controls in Genie on my iPad the UI just sits on Signing into OpenDNS... forever. In Genie on my Mac it tries to log in and then returns could not log in, check your internet connection. On both devices I get invalid user name or password if I intentially enter them wrong, so it is certainly communicating with the server. I expect it's something wrong with my Router, but no idea what to look at. Any advice would be appreciated.
