WARNING! GENIE APP MAY DAMAGE YOUR IPHONE! (and Mac ?)
Genie is a disaster! It has been updated now on iOS several times since I installed it on my iPhone and it seams it has gone from acceptable to unbelievable bad. The Genie app on my MacBook Pro is also the weirdest app that you can imaging! On my iPhone 6s with 64GB running 9.3.1 the app prevents my phone from going into standby and creating an extremely HOT phone! What kind of Guiding Light has written that app!!! It can seriously harm your phone! I am really angry about this kind of weird crapp! On my Macbook Pro it is most likely the same. The (cr) app has a huge impact on energy consumption and it sets your CPU in overdrive! I did not check how HOT my CPU got on my MacBook but Netgear should Get rid of this kind of complete obsolete apps! I think everybody that uses these 2 apps should be aware of the damage that it can cause simply by overheating your device! Delete it! Destroy it! Get Rid of it!
unable to connect wirelessly to WNDR3400v2 with HTC Windows Phone 8x
Recently picked up a used HTC WIndows Phone 8x, and while over at a friend's house, used his WiFi to upgrade the OS to current release (8.10.14203.306). all went well, I was satisfied enough that it could work for me. Take it home, and absolutely under no circumstances will it connect to my home router. WNDR3400v2, latest firmware update (V1.0.0.52_1.0.81). No matter what security I have set, (even NO Security) it doesn't even THINK about it for a few seconds while it tries... it just falls flat and fails *instantly* with "Can't Connect. Your phone can't connect to the WiFi network NETGEAR39." I'm somewhat annoyed that the phone (from 2012) doesn't see the 5Ghz network, but it should at LEAST be able to connect to the 2.4Ghz network with no problems. What are my options here?
